The Luxe Lineup: Missguided’s #MakeYourMark Campaign

In the age of airbrush and ‘perfect’ lighting, it’s hard to know what’s real. It’s gotten to the point where we don’t necessarily like what’s real. We edit and filter the realness away, so we’re left with perfectly polished bodies. It’s common in fashion magazines, social media platforms and online retail stores.

One retail brand has gone against the grain and created a campaign to promote body positivity. Missguided, a UK based retailer launched their #MakeYourMark campaign as apart of their #KeepBeingYou movement.

As part of our new #KeepBeingYou movement we’re on a mission to inspire babes the world over to love themselves, for themselves, to embrace your flaws and to not strive for what the world perceives as perfection. Because f*ck perfection, it doesn’t exist. We are making a pledge to never retouch our models’ perfect ‘imperfections’ out. #MakeYourMark – Missguided

They selected eight bloggers, models and body-positive activists to represent the campaign. The women they selected were Felicity Hayward, Emily Bador, Netsai Tinaresse Dandajena, Jade Laurice, Nylo, Sam Roswell, Ally and Nelly London. Click on their names above to learn more about them!

It’s refreshing to see that more people are embracing themselves and that brands are promoting body positivity. Hopefully other brands and other women will feel comfortable showing off their natural and perfectly ‘imperfect’ bodies.
